Morning Swim

"Electro-pop that can charm the pants out of any pundit. Part of this comes from their performances that showcase the two members’ distinct identities: Gaugler that of an ice-queen, party debutante and Peralta’s manic geekiness" – Erwin Romulo (UNO Magazine)

Turbo Goth is an avant garde union of Sarah Gaugler (vox) and Paolo Peralta (vox/guitars/sampling) forming one of the most surprising and delicate electronic pop group in the country. Based in Quezon City, this couple draws divine inspiration from the musical trinity of Madonna, Daftpunk, and Iggy Pop.

Their story and shared passion to create beautiful tunes is fascinating and charming. As Sarah is bursting with beauty and talent (she is also a popular model, tattoo artist, and graphic illustrator/painter), crossing paths with Paolo the sous-chef and guitarist paved way for an exciting musical concept that is Turbo Goth during summer of 2008.

They recently signed with Lilystars Records, the indie-label that houses The Camerawalls, and is currently working on a full-length album set for release before 2009 comes close to an end. Prior to the album the band thru their label will release a series of singles, the first of which will be their signature song “Morning Swim,” digitally thru iTunes and Amazon MP3 by May.
Their music is nothing close to Goth and their live performance promises to entertain both the expectators’ ears and eyes. Now getting more and more attention from discerning listeners the couple are now staple figures in the underground gigging circuit as well as some media and art events and is regarded as one of the bands that will definitely succeed in 2009.
