The number one fashion and lifestyle magazine for the family in the U.S. has finally arrived here! BC Magazine Philippines just launched its first issue last month (Oct.- Nov. issue). And I am very proud to say that I'm a part of its editorial team. :] You guys know how fascinated I am with magazines and yes, it is a dream come true for me to be actually working [not just contributing] in a magazine - the thrill of every photoshoot, pulling out clothes, shoes, accessories [for adults and kids], styling, some writing, conceptualizing, layouting, coordinating with celebs/handlers/muas/ hairstylists, meeting a lot of people, etc. :]

For BC's premiere issue, we have two covers - Ms. Dawn Zulueta-Lagdameo with kids and a collage of our Most Beautiful Moms(bts photos above). :] Next week will be our official launch party/ photo exhibit [Most Beautiful Moms and some Hollywood celebs BC has done], I'll tell you more about it soon! :] Meanwhile, please like our FB page. Thanks! :]

P.S. There's a new addition to the BC family, which I am very excited about - SPARK Magazine, details soon! :]

Hologram Magazine

Designer friend Ezekiel Aquino made this editorial imagery where one of my snaps from the Philippine Fashion Week was used. It's from Michael Cinco's show as supermodel Ria Bolivar transformed this enchanting dress to a military inspired outfit.

Check out more of EZ's works here.

Hello Optimism!

Finally, some decent magazine in the local indsutry has arrived.
Monday Magazine is a new publication for young urban professionals that covers corporate culture, consumerism and lifestyle.
Now on their second issue, Monday magazine did not fail its readers for having an equally powerful and very controversial cover(s). For their pilot issue, they did four covers and now trimmed down to two, but still having that same very strong impact.

"Well, you have to see it's cutting-edge design which our EIC pain-strickenly obsessed with to make it perfect. And when I say obsessed i mean the same definition as Merriam-Webster has. Every kerning and spacing are calculated, rivers are eliminated and every paragraphs and lines are balanced and measured!" - Bonnapart Galeng, Associate Editor

I personally saw the pilot issue and I must agree with Bonn. Knowing their EIC, Mr. Ric Gindap, I know that he wouldn't allow even a single wrong spacing. Perfectionist much? Well, he's a genius. lol.

An almost 300-page magazine, Monday is a great read (substance plus not-painful-to-the-eyes visuals) for someone with style, sophisticated taste and living today's modern lifestyle. Here's a sneak peak of their second issue.

Ish

Ish is probably one of the best magazines I've ever seen. I came to know about it a few years back when I saw it seemingly lost in a magazine stand. With its outstanding cover, I know that it is something I would love to read. And I was right, with the copies properly spaced out (good kerning and leading) plus simple but very nice layout, it is something really pleasing to the eyes. Of course,  great photos and graphics are given. love!

here's something from their site:
iSh, one of Asia’s most celebrated design magazine, was founded in 1999 by Kelley Cheng as an independent magazine dedicated to promoting the best of Asian design and designers to an international audience. The bi-monthly magazine has since been bought over and published by Page One Publishing Private Limited, but with Cheng still at the helm.

With its bold and striking design, iSh won the Design for Asia Award – Asia’s highest design award – in 2005. Lorraine Justice, one of the judges, described iSh as, “one of my favourite magazines out there today. Each and every page is exciting to look at. They are different and carefully designed.”

Following this, iSh garnered for itself the “Excellence in Magazine Front Cover Design” award at the prestigious Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) 2007 Awards for Editorial Excellence. The magazine received its latest accolade, once again, at this year’s SOPA 2008 Awards. For the second year in a row, iSh caught the judges’ attention at the SOPA Awards with its signature bold design. It bagged the Honorable Mention for “Excellence in Magazine Design” in the category for small magazines or local newspapers published in English.
Month of Aug in year 2009, iSh departs with a big bang as she clinches the Award of Excellence in Magazine Design at the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Awards for Editorial Excellence yet again. Having bagged the SOPA award for the third time, it is a promise of recognition for iSh magazine’s stature in the publishing industry as well as the efforts of its team of very committed editors and designers.

Sadly, last August 2009 the team have decided to cease the publication of ish after a good decade's run.

I'm on Metro!

Grab a copy of Metro's April ish!

It feels so nice for my name to be aligned with these amazing photographers ( Xander Angeles, Sara Black, Nicolo Cosme, Jake Versoza, etc.). I did a little contribution for Metro this April. It is my first time to actually contribute on a mainstream magazine and I am so thankful to Bea for this experience. My shots look crappy but hell I care, my name's on Metro. LOL. I am so looking forward to more contributions. Now that school is over I have more time to shoot! Lezshoot!

Garage Party

Last Thursday, Bea invited me to spot and shoot some fasyown people in a Speedo event in White Space Makati for the style spy section of Metro mag. After the event, we went to the Garage Mag party at Fiamma.Jujiin Samonte and Paulo Castro

I almost forgot that Jujiin works for Garage, so a bit shocked when I saw them.

Andrei Chang, Daryl Chang, Mela De Luna

It's somehow funny to see people from Preview (Daryl Chang, Associate Fashion Editor) and Metro ( Mela De Luna, Fashion Editor) all together in an event for Garage mag.
Yeys. They're all friends. :)Bea, Farah, Gino
Surprisingly, we saw Farah with Gino.
We had a shoot once for the Farm.
Booked Farah for Bea's next collection (DarkWhite). Wuhooo!lol.

Hello big arms! with Nasia and SeanGarage's 11 New Tastemakers in Fashion, Visual Arts, TV, photography and film.
