Animal Rehabilitation Center, Brazil

People know that we love animals so when we went to Sao Paulo we were invited to 2 amazing animal rehabilitation centers. Over our 9-day trip to Brazil, we've met a bunch of really nice people who have dedicated their lives to rehabilitating wild life animals.

These animals arrive at a result of trafficking, fires, hunting, deforestation, urban invasions, and among other reasons, were sent by the Riparian Forest Fire Department, Environmental Police, Municipal Guard, and other institutions.

Many of these animals are treated but cannot be relocated in nature, either for possessing physical injuries as mutilation or the long period in captivity.

However these rehabilitation centers are always in need of more funding so we've decided to do some art to help out the animals! Stay tuned for more info on Monday.

Happy Easter!

When my friend Doug Gregory asked me to do a "Easter Goblin" for WoW cards, it was such a funny idea, I couldn't say no.

Another dream job I can cross off my list :)

Happy Easter everyone!

The Ugly Duckling

The Ugly Duckling.

There once was a duckling that didn't look like any of his brothers or sisters. He looked very ugly and everyone made fun of him. As the duckling grew into an adult he turned from ugly to scary.

So scary that his brothers and sisters became too scared to make fun of him anymore. The end.

Guiding Light

Here's a painting from a pen drawing I posted a few weeks ago. I call it 'Guiding Light.'

Is he a bad guy or good guy? What do you think? Is he guiding the little fish to safety or is he planning on eating them? You decide.

Casualty

This was an idea for a painting that I felt compelled to paint. I call it "CASUALTY."

It's always wonderful to paint things that are personal to how I feel or the things that concern me. I just wish this idea wasn't inspired by an event that was so horrific such as the BP oil spill.

Very sad.

Guiding Light

From a little story I was thinking about over the weekend.

Is he a bad guy or good guy? Is he helping to guide the sea creatures or is he going to eat them? You'll have to wait to find out!

Hello Kitty Three Apples Art Exhibition. Impostor by Bobby Chiu

So Peter, Kei and I were in LA on Thursday to attend a freakin super cute art exhibit of Hello Kitty. Very fun! The 3 of us were all exhibiting paintings in the show. Here's mine! I called it "IMPOSTOR". I really LOVE this painting! It was very fun to do and it always kept me smiling from start to finish.

This is a digital one of a kind canvas print. So unfortunately there will be no prints made of this. But feel free to update your wallpaper :)

Air Force One

Here's a drawing I did called "Air Force One."

It was for a friend of Kei and I named Jean Barbaud. He's doing an artbook full of fun and beautiful air plane art and he asked me to contribute. Since I've been so interested in drawing creatures recently, I decided to combine a creature with airplane parts :)

Done in ballpoint pen on watercolor paper. 7"x5"

Red Riding Hood

Here's a painting I did for a contest I'll be conducting on CGHUB.com in the near future. Stay tuned!

It's a twisted version of Little Red Riding Hood. In my version, little Red Riding Hood is actually an alien and the wolf is her obedient alien servant.

You can make up the rest of the story... :)

Stitch and Digital Painting Video

Earlier last week I had a little 5 minute poll on Deviantart to see what people wanted me to paint more... Stitch or Momo?

Stitch won by with 57 votes to Momo's 33. Then I checked it a few hours later and Stitch was leading with 800 something votes! Jeez... well since so many people wanted to see this, here you go. This time I basically kept to the same design simply because I love Chris Sanders' original design. Perhaps next time I'll go crazier with...... MOMO?? :)

Here's a new VIDEO of me talking while painting Stitch! Hope you like it.

Tobi and the Jelly Bean Tree

Here's a very special and rare little rodent named "Tobi." He's on a search for some fruit from the almost extinct Jelly Bean Tree.

Please help the re-population of the species by planting a jelly bean today!

Watercolor and Gouache on watercolor paper mounted on board.
