Shutdown your computer after a specific time without any software

You can shutdown your computer after a specific time without any software, through this run command. For this you have to follow these instructions

>start
>run
>type shutdown.exe -s -t 300 (it is the time converted in second, after which the PC will shutdown)
>then press OK

You wll get a confirmation !
Be careful about the space after shutdown.exe & after shutdown.exe -s

Say, you need to shutdown your PC after 1 hour. So it is 3600 second. write down shutdown.exe -s -t 3600 AND press OK ! Done. The PC will shutdown after 1 hour.
To stop the times if once you click,  Open “Run” and type “shutdown -a” which terminates the timer as well as stops the computer from shutdown.

Clean your scratched old cd or dvd

It is not a very old time that we use cd or dvd. Many people were fond of that. But now a days cd is not so used. However you can get dvd at any time.

In this article I am going to show
you some tips to fix
scratched CD or DVD and recover
the data within. Every user has
had trouble with a scratched CD
or DVD.
The theory goes like this -
A CD/DVD reader or player uses a
laser beam to read the data on
the disk. This laser beam crosses
the protective plastic layer and
reads the real recording metal
layer. If the protective plastic
layer is scratched, the laser will
be unable to pass. Which results in
non-readable disc. In the case of
data CDs the CD/DVD reader is
unable to read the CD/DVD
properly resulting in reading
errors while in case of audio/
video discs, the CD player skips
when we play it.
If somehow we manage to re-
smooth this protective layer then
the laser will reach the data and
read it, now there are many ways
we can achieve this using
common household item's as
discussed below:

1). Toothpaste - You can
use any non-gel based
toothpaste for this, just put a
very small amount of it on the
scratched area and polish it
gently using a cotton swab,
sometimes the paste may cause
new minor scratches but they
are just superficial. Now just
wash the cd using water.

2). If the above trick does not
work you can try You can also try using some
oil as a polishing agent this also
works many times.

3). some metal polish like
Brasso gently wiping with a soft
cotton ball followed by
application of Vaseline.

4). Baking Soda - make a small
quantity of baking soda paste
and apply using a soft cotton
cloth buffing the bad scratch.
Clean the baking soda before
using the disc.

Please note that
you must take special care while
using the above tips.

Make your old computer fast

We can not pass a day without the computer. But if you click on a programme & it takes too long time to start or web page take long time to open , you becomes angry. It is true that if your computer becomes old, the web page loaded slowly and it took a lot of times to launch a programme.

What happens really :

All the times when you browse internet, downloads programme, install software then junk files will gathered on your computers hard drive, temporary internet files, Software that install but did not like but never bothered to uninstall, emails from your friends and family that are sitting in your inbox, all the junk slowling down your computer.

Why it occurs :

When the hard drive becomes cluttered it begins to slow down. Your computer performance is reduced substantially. The more files you have stored on your hard drive, the more they get scattered and fragmented.
In addition the more files have fragmented the more space will consumed resulting in less virtual memory. That open area or unused space on the hard drive is used as virtual memory. If you have decreased free disk space for data swapping your computer will become sluggish and took a long time to respond a command.

What is the solution :

Then the question comes forward what you have to do ? Will you just through your pc into trash. No, you can follow the next few suggestions. Which i have collected from surfing net :

1. Always keep your hard drive neat and clean.
2. Remove or uninstall programme or files that you dont need.
3. Use the CCleaner software or any other like that to delete junk files.
4. Defragment your computer at least once in a week.
5. Dont rough use your computer, it is machine which needs care.
6. Use an reputued anti virus, antimalware or antispyware software and update it regularly.

There are five major factors that contribute the computer performance. Be sure before purchase.

1. Type of processor. If you want a high performance computer stay away from lower end processor.
2. Maximum availabe cache in a processor. The large cache, a cpu has the less time it needs to access the computer memory.
3. The faster the hard drive spins the faster the cpu can access the data. Most home pc will have either a 5800rpm or 7200rpm hard drive.
4. Front side bus, larger or faster a computer front side bus is better a computer will perform.
5. Random access memory. The more it will be the more the computer will perform.
If you use to play game, probably you can never have too much memory. But if you use your computer for net surfing and email a 1gb is plenty good on a windows xp.

Here is a tips to increase the performance of your personal computer by clearing the virtual memory. There are also many tips to increase the speed of RAM. To delete the page file which act as virtual memory follow this
> Start
> Control panel
> Adminstrative tools
> Local security settings
> Security settings
> Local policies
> Security options
From here at the right side enable the
> Shutdown:clear virtual memory page file by double click. Then click ok and exit. After this when you shut down your pc, virtual memory page file will be deleted automatically. Thus the performance of your pc will increase.
